Bahias de Huatulco - photos

Bahias de Huatulco:

From Tehuantepec, we took the bus to Santa Cruz de Huatulco and more precisely La Crucecita where we will stay as the area was more accessible on price. It was nice to be back to the sea side and during 3 days we went to visit various bahias.

They are nine bahias de Huatulco; Bahia San Augustin, Chachacual and Cacaluta were accessible only by boat and as it was the low season, the boat prices were expensive for only 2 persons. So we went to visit las bahias de Santa Cruz, Chahue and Organo and playa La Entrega. The other bahias, Maguey, Tangolunda and Conejos were too far. We decided to rent bikes and had a nice ride to playa la Entrega but nobody told us that the road was hilly so half of the time we were off the bikes and to add to the pain it was very hot...in Campeche we had made the same mistake but we did not learn the lesson...

- The evening we arrived at the Crucecita, we walked up to Bahia de Santa Cruz and we saw the end of the sunset with nice colours,
-The next day, with our rented bikes and on our way to playa La Entrega, we had a panoramic view of Bahia Santa Cruz which is surrounded like some other bahias by posh hotels,
- I absolutely like this orange-flowers tree! They are superb bringing nice orange colour to a very dry vegetation. They were lots on our way to the playa...
-...playa that we reached after 1.5hr of hard efforts under a hot sun!!! Also superb turquoise colour of a very clean water,
- On our way back, we stopped at the lighthouse which was offering nice views. Time to put my hair up and we were heading off to Bahia Chahue...
-...where water was green-turquoise. At this bahia, it was recommended not to swim due to strong currents...
-...so we spent some time relaxing after our ride in the swimming pool which access was free with the hotel package. The swimming pool was just at the edge of the beach, turquoise everywhere for us!!!
