On our way to go to the Iguazu waterfalls, we stopped for a couple of days in Posadas, the capital of the "Misiones" province. Posadas is facing Paraguay across the "Rio Parana" and the international bridge allows crossing the river to reach "Encarnacion" in Paraguay. Well, except the place where we stayed for the nights (the owners were welcoming and the room was very clean, (hostel Cordoba, Santiago del estero)), we were disappointed by this town. The city was empty during the afternoon/evening even with a population of ~250,000, the central Plaza was under refurbishment, the 'nice' beach (~10m long!) was not open, the river banks accessible were very muddy and stony so very impracticable! and on the last day tropical rain started...The only interesting point was the celebration "Estudiantes 2008", where students from different schools paraded on the coast road "la costanera" wearing colourful costumes and dresses and playing drums. This town will not stay in our memory!!
