Pasto in Colombia:
- The main plaza of the town was all covered in white and a constant cloud of powder could be seen. Lee has got some pictures with nothing on the screen except white clouds...
- Can you recognize Lee on the picture? We spent a good part of the afternoon with Elena's family. We met them during the morning during spectacular fights of powder and foam. They invited us to join them at the top of a building in the main plaza. From here, we fought again, danced salsa (well tried!) and drank some rum. We spent a very nice time in their company but unfortunately the email addresses they gave me don't work so we have lost the contact with them,
- During the 6th of January, big figurines made in paper paraded in the main streets. Full of colours, they were very impressive by their size. Look at this figurine of King Kong, it was bent to allow its way in the street...that gives you an idea of its size!!
- And this woman how tall is she? The people in charge of the figurines spent between 6 to 9 months to prepare them. Lots of work and time but that was worth it, superb!
- During our last day, we went to visit the laguna of Cocha situated 27km from Pasto. The laguna was not accessible by foot but only by boat and as we did not take enough money with us, we could not visit the island of Corota. But the rain started early afternoon so we were happy finally to have not been to the island! The houses here are typical swiss chalets offering dozen of recipes with trout!
