Guayaquil - photos 2

Guayaquil:

- The Barrio (or district) Las Penas, the oldest district of Guayaquil with houses more than a century old! It was a little run down but since a couple of years ago, it has been restored and it is now one of the main tourist point of the city. In the top background, we can distinguish the light house which offers superb view of the town (see third picture),
- Lee on the Malecon Simon Bolivar. He was a little disappointed because the hazyness did not allow good pictures,
- Panoramic view of Guayaquil from the light house in the Barrio Las Penas. During all our stay in the city, it was hazy and suffocating,
- This picture was taken in the Seminario Park or Simon Bolivar Park which is the home of hundred of iguanas. How many iguanas can you spot in the tree? You will probably need to blow up the picture for that!
- The Malecon Simon Bolivar was home to a superb garden full of tropical green plants. I had some small ones of them in Tynemouth in pots but here all the plants were splendid and massive!! By the way, thanks to Andy, Stu and Anu who are taking care of my green plants...I hope so!!!
