Flores - photos

Flores:

We stayed a couple of days in Coban prior to reaching Flores but Coban was a town without charm so I have not taken a picture. To reach Flores, we took a collectivo to Sayaxche. Then here we crossed the Rio De la Pasion in small boat and then took another collectivo to Santa Elena, the closest town to go to Flores. Flores is an island on the Peten Lake, connected to the land and Santa Elena by an artificial isthmus.

We stayed also a couple of days in Flores, mainly relaxing, doing some shopping at Santa Elena and trying to find a bank which will want to give some money to Lee! No worries, after trying half a dozen of ATM, he found the good one!

- Sayaxche. Waiting to cross the Rio De La Pasion...
- Cars, trucks and buses are crossing using the ferry. Depending on the way the boat is going, the person in charge of the motor moves to a different little place (where we can see the parasol). Very efficient!
- Flores. Evening. View from the balcony of our hotel,
- Sunset on the Lake Peten,
- Superb picture of this small boat. The contrast of the colours between the white, blue and green is nice,
- Lee was having a swim to cool down in the lake whose water was very clear. He looks like Godzilla getting out of the lake.......
