Sucre or the colonial town - la ville coloniale

We arrived in Sucre late evening from Potosi and went directly to the hostel advised by the travel book. Unfortunately, the review in the book was far different that what we saw but too tired, we stayed in this hostel. We changed first thing next day for an hotel called "The Grand Hotel" whose price was only 1pound more expensive but the quality was 10times higher! The hotel was from a colonial style and the patio with all the colours was absolutely beautiful.
Sucre was founded in 1540 and its first name was "Villa de Plata" or "Silver town" but was renamed Sucre on behalf of the Great Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio Jose de Sucre. The town is considered to be the birthplace of the Republic of Bolivia because the Declaration of Independance was signed here in the "Casa de la Libertad"or "Liberty House" in August 1825.
We spent our time discovering this colonial town with a peaceful and very pleasant "plaza del 25 de Mayo" where The Metropolitan Cathedral, the Departmental Government House, la Casa de la Libertad... can be admired. The view from the Mirador was also superb with thunder and lightening for background. After 2 days of nice walks in this pretty city, we were ready to reach the Capital, LaPaz...

Nous arrivames a Sucre tard dans la soiree depuis Potosi et allames directement a l´hostel conseille par le guide de voyage. Malheureusement, la revue du livre etait tres differente de ce que nous avons vu mais trop fatigues, nous decidames de rester dans cet hostel. Nous avons change le lendemain pour un hotel nomme "Le Grand Hotel" dont le prix etait 1.2euros plus cher mais la qualite etait 10fois plus! L´hotel etait de style colonial et le patio (ou cour interieure) avec ses couleurs etait superbe.
Sucre a ete fondee en 1540 et son nom premier fut "Villa de Plata" ou Ville d´argent" mais elle a ete renommee Sucre en hommage au Grand Marechal d´Ayacucho, Antonio Jose de Sucre. La ville est consideree comme le lieu de naissance de la Republique de Bolivie car la Declaration d´Independance fut signee ici dans la "Casa de la Libertad" ou Maison de la Liberte en Aout 1825.
Nous passames notre temps a decouvrir cette ville coloniale avec une Plaza tres jolie et tres tranquille ou la Cathedrale Metropolitaine, le Palais du Gouvernement Departemental, la Maison de la liberte...peuvent etre admires. La vue panoramique depuis le Mirador etait aussi superbe avec des eclairs et le tonnerre en fond. Apres 2jours de promenade plaisant dans cette jolie ville, nous etions prets a rejoindre la Capitale, LaPaz...
