Trip preparation-Part II

Oupps!! I think I am late to post this one because I am already in Buenos Aires!!! But be crazy...for once...

That is!!! The flat is empty, the green plants on save hands, Lee's parents house ready to collapse with all our stuff!!! That has not been simple to pile up everything in the loft and the garage but believe me we did it!!! We spent a full sunday morning emptying the garage!!!

Everything sorted, a week to relax and chill out before flying. Well we thought a week to relax but a week to chase up the estate agent because the wall in the stairs case showed traces so the full wall had to be painted. But between the landlord who was supposed to have a look to say if yes or not the wall has to be painted (in between us, sure he never came as after a week and half we still don´t have any news but we lost 4 days of waiting), between the estate agent´s painter who never gave us a quote for how much painting a wall cost (like if he has never paint a wall during his all life!!!), we left England with a wall to be painted. Hopefully, we sorted that in the airport with the help of our neighbour (cheers Stephen!). Just need to check if the wall has be pai nted, what a story for just a wall!!!

Well as I said earlier we are in Buenos Aires so check the next post for news regarding what we have been doing since we arrived in Argentina.

Trip preparation-Part I

Here we are!!! The beginning...

Two years ago, we were already talking about this travel but the main problem was the money. That sorted, other big problem was leaving work. Well I am calling that a big problem but finally this became easy after a serie of "little" issues, giving me the resolution to quit my job. So three months ago, the resignition letter reached the desk of my manager...

And from that, since two months ago, we have been "actively" preparing the trip. Clothes and usefull gadgets to buy, vaccines to do, flights to book, apartment to rent... we have never spent so much time on internet than from the moment we decided to go!! But how usefull is internet, everything is now sorted. One month prior to flying, not bad at all!!! Well everything for the trip is sorted not what we are going to do with the furniture we've got. Need to think about that!! Anybody interested in buying a sofa???

The worst for me was probably all the vaccines to endure. Eight done in a month!! Yellow fever, 3 rabies injections, typhoid, hepatitis A and B, tetanus, diphteria, polio!!! "But better to prevent than to be cured" from a french proverbe "mieux vaut prevenir que guerir" so that was worth all the pain. And now I can go travelling more relax (Lee has done his 3 years ago as he went travelling to the same area for 6 months).

Now only one month to go. Just time to tidy and clean the mess we've got! Not so simple...

Language barrier!

Due to the fact that most of my friends are living in England, I have decided to write this diary in English and leave the French for occasional use. I am sure that everybody will be indulgent regarding any grammatical or other mistakes :-).
